I read a quote recently that struck me to the core. “Happiness is not about getting all you want, it is about enjoying all you have.”
Around 20 years ago, I went on holiday hiking in the beautiful Dolomite mountains in Italy, and encountered a priest from Rome who was there visiting his sister’s family and hiking with his young nephews. Upon returning to the UK, I received an email from him.
“I've been very happy of meeting you, in Vallada.
You were like a mountain brook, fresh and lively, sparkling with curiosity and joy of being alive.
I would have liked to be able to probe a little more what is inside your head and heart, coming as you are from such a different background of culture. How you see this world and life on it, what makes you happy and what sad, and similar things.”
Looking back, I can still feel the simple joy of being alive I felt then. And the joy I have now seems to be more coming from wisdom, knowing of the unknown and trusting that I learnt in my journey.
Life is a full circle, you search and search to go back to the child, the pure joy of being alive.
Here are the some insights came to me.
True happiness lies in the present moment.
In the present moment, there are treasures buried for us to pay attention to and discover.
Life is a Gift. The Gifts are in Present. That’s why it is called Present.
Joy is in Gratitude and Appreciation of Present - All that you have as gifts, known and unknown.
Find treasures in Present and Express and Create what is in your original design with the gifts.
Gratitude. Appreciation. Expression.
